Born in Adelaide, South Australia and raised in Italy, Ray returned to Australia in 1981 and opened his first photographic studio in Sydney where he specialized in Fashion and Still Life.
His love for the game of tennis pushed him towards a career as a sports photographer and started shooting tennis at the 1989 Australian Open.
Since then has covered so far more than 200 tennis events around the world and is the staff photographer for “Il Tennis Italiano”, the world’s oldest tennis magazine.
So far he has produced 4 photographic books on tennis and his work has been selected for two important exhibitions, “WTA: The History of Women’s Tennis” at Proud Galleries in London and “Passing Shots, photographers’ Perspectives on Tennis” at the US Open Gallery, Flushing, New York.
